I’ve added a new project to my My Projects menu — an interactive app called The Inner Realms, and it’s free for anyone who wants to explore it.
What Pathworking Actually Is
Pathworking is a guided meditation technique with roots in Kabbalah, Hermeticism, and Western esoteric traditions. Rather than sitting in stillness, you use visualization and imagination to move through a symbolic inner landscape — a mental “path” built from imagery, archetypes, and metaphor — as a way of accessing the subconscious mind. It’s often described as a bridge between the conscious and unconscious: a way of taking what surfaces in that inner landscape and folding it back into ordinary, waking life.
The Inner Realms takes you through the full arc of pathworking practice, from the basic mechanics through to advanced applications. The curriculum moves through eight broad arcs:
- The foundations — what pathworking is, its history, and how to start a sustainable practice
- Sacred space and grounding — setting an intention, building a physical or energetic space to work in, and the breathwork and centering techniques that keep the practice safe
- Guided visualization and meditation — developing the actual skill of building vivid mental imagery, entering a meditative state, and navigating what you find there
- The Tree of Life and inner archetypes — using the Sephiroth as a symbolic map, and meeting recurring inner figures (the Hero, the Sage, the Shadow, and others) as patterns rather than fixed roles
- Reflection and integration — turning what comes up in a journey into something usable: goal-setting, self-compassion, and translating symbol into grounded action
- Daily practice — weaving pathworking into ordinary life, using it for problem-solving, creativity, and presence
- Advanced techniques (optional) — tarot and ritual work layered into pathworking, for those who want to go further
- Continued practice — building a personalized, ongoing self-discovery routine
Inside the App
The Inner Realms is hosted on ChatGPT, so you’ll need to log in with a Google account to access it. Once you’re in, here’s what you’ll find:
- Sanctuary — the home base, with a short framing (“Every inner world begins with a door”) and quick access to wherever you left off
- Journey — the full curriculum laid out as eight sequential modules (“The Threshold,” “The Sanctuary,” “The Living Image,” “The Archetypal Mirror,” “The Tree of Life,” “The Soul’s Journey,” “The Golden Thread,” “The Returning Path”), 32 lessons in total, each with an estimated reading time
- Practice — a guided, seven-stage pathworking sequence with breath cues and a built-in timer, plus a “Sanctuary Preflight” checklist to help you set up the space properly before you begin
- Archetypes — an interactive mirror where you can move between figures like the Hero, Sage, Shadow, Mother, Trickster, and Seeker, each with its integrated gift, its shadow side, and a reflective question
- Tree of Life — a clickable map of the ten Sephiroth, where selecting a sphere (say, Tiphareth) brings up its meaning and a contemplative question tied to it
- Journal — a private, local-only space to log what came up in a session: what appeared, what it might mean, and one small grounded action to take from it
If you do explore The Inner Realms, I’d love to hear what came up for you. Access the app HERE
